Community Worker : Senior Citizens Project
SAMAA is looking for a part time worker who has appropriate qualification and experience in aged care industry to run its volunteer service program under Senior Citizens Project sponsored by Community Relations Commission (CRC).
4 Hrs a day, two days a week, Salary $20.57p/h
Role:
The community worker will help develop an effective service model to facilitate the provision of culturally and religiously appropriate volunteer services for the elderly of South Asian Muslims. The work will involve extensive contact with various South Asian Muslim communities to register their elderly with SAMAA and identify their service needs. It will also include campaigns to register volunteers for the program.
The community worker will also establish links with various providers of aged care and ancillary services such as couple of nursing homes, home and community care, aged care assessment teams, carer respite centres etc to assist these agencies in understanding the specific cultural and religious needs of South Asian Muslims.
People having knowledge of South Asian Muslim cultural, religious and linguistic issues will be preferred. NSW driving liecence and computer litercay are essential. The community worker will be based at his/her own home, however appropriate allowances will be given to facilitate such operations.
