VOLUNTEERS

As the main activity of SAMAA is to provide volunteer services, volunteers form the most important link between SAMAA and the community. It is critical that our volunteers are able to carry out their duties effectively and that they find their task enjoyable, satisfying and rewarding. Volunteer work is an act of charity which is appreciated by the community and is considered noble in Islam. Great reward is reserved in the hereafter for those who contribute to such charitable work.

Volunteers may offer their services in helping the elderly in day to day activities such as taking them to Friday prayers, doctors and shopping, cooking food for them and helping them in household tasks etc.

They also help in other activities such as arranging regular gatherings and picnics for the elderly.

We wish to make the relationship between our volunteers and elderly mutually beneficial. Our elderly may be able to teach Quran, Urdu or other subjects to our volunteers or their children and also guide them in general life matters.

We request all brothers/sisters who can spare some time to offer their services and register themselves as volunteers.

SAMAA has now introduced the system of paid volunteers. Under this programme, the volunteers can be paid for the work they do or for the personal expenses they incur in serving the elderly.
